1. Setting up an Account:

All items available on www.grassrootscommercial.com are viewable without logging in, at retail prices.

To set up an account with Grassroots Commercial, please e-mail us at customerservice@grassrootscommercial.com or phone us at 888-633-5833 x202.

All prices are subject to change without notice, and are FOB Grassroots (i.e. delivery is extra).

Grassroots offers an automatic 10% case quantity discount for all products shipped in case amounts--please refer to the "Case" symbol at the bottom of product descriptions to find case amounts. Products ordered in case multiples will receive the 10% discount. Please note that the discount on your commercial account already includes the 10% case discount.

Commercial orders must be a minimum of $100 before taxes and delivery. Wholesale orders must be a minimum of $500 before taxes and delivery. We ask that initial orders are paid prior to shipment; please fill out and return our Credit Application Form should you wish to set up terms.

2. Payment Methods:

Accepted payment methods for initial commercial orders are Visa, Mastercard and Amex. Cheques must be in Canadian funds, and should be made payable to Grassroots Inc. Please send cheques to Grassroots Commercial, 372 Danforth Avenue, Toronto, ON, M4K 1N8.

3. Returns:

Products purchased from Grassroots Commercial may be returned due to manufacturer's defects, provided Grassroots is notified of such defects by email or phone within one week of delivery. Please contact Grassroots prior to returning product. We stand by our products and will work with you to come to a satisfactory solution.

Original shipping fees are not refundable when returning or exchanging product. The customer is responsible for return shipping charges, should they apply. We cannot accept COD deliveries and highly recommend you insure your return shipment.

We will notify you of your refund via email after we've received and processed the returned item. You can expect a full refund (minus shipping fees) in the same form of payment originally used for purchase within 7-14 business days after your return is received.

For U.S. Returns:

Once a return is approved, please ship all returns prepaid, by insured Surface Mail (United States Postal Service). We will not accept returns or exchanges from the United States that are sent via courier. Why? Because Customs would impose brokerage/duty fees on Grassroots as though we were accepting goods from a U.S. supplier.

Where applicable, please contact your local customs office for information about any taxes or duties that may be assessed on a return shipment. To avoid unnecessary delays, please write "Canadian Goods Returning" on the outside of the package. Please follow the rest of the steps outlined above for all returns or exchanges.


4. Non-Returnable Items:

The following products cannot be returned or exchanged:

  • Used filters, or filters in opened packages

5. Damaged Goods:

If your order arrived damaged, please return it immediately. If the error is ours, you will not be charged for additional shipping costs. We will then re-send your new order at no cost to you.


6. Warranties:

Grassroots honours all products covered under manufacturers' warranties. To determine whether your product is covered under warranty, please refer to what is stated in the online product description. If it's unclear or you have any questions, please call or email us. We're always happy to help.


7. Ordering Methods:

If you are uncomfortable or unable to order products through the Internet, orders can be made via email, fax, mail or phone. Our hours and contact information are as follows:

8. Order Fulfillment Times:

Orders are processed within 1 business day; order fulfillment (not including delivery) is generally 1-2 weeks. If, for some reason, any part of your order is not available, we will try to notify you as soon as possible. Our website availability does not reflect our current stock, though we hope to eventually make this possible.


9. Product Back Orders:

A back ordered product is one that is not currently in stock, which we expect to have available within two to six weeks. We will notify you as soon as possible should a product be on back order.

When you purchase a product on back order, we will ship the item within 2-6 weeks and notify you by email when your order has been shipped. Once the order is shipped, your credit card or account is charged for the purchase and shipping cost.

If you order a combination of in-stock and back ordered products, you then have the option to split ship your order or wait for all products to arrive prior to shipment. In the event that you choose to split ship, we charge your credit card for the in-stock items and the shipping cost. The back ordered items are shipped within 2-6 weeks. We will send you an email notification when we ship the remainder of your order, at which time your credit card or account is charged for the back ordered items.

To cancel a back ordered product, simply email us with your order number. This number can be found in your confirmation email from us or in the packing slip that came with your first shipment of in-stock items. You can also find your order number by logging in to your account on our site.

Please note: If we must cancel your back order because products become unavailable, we will email you.


10. Delivery Times & Shipping Details:

Grassroots Commercial ships with FedEx and Canada Post. Pick-ups at our Riverdale and Annex store locations and local deliveries (within the Greater Toronto Area) are also available. A map of delivery zones and associated delivery costs is forthcoming. Local deliveries are made weekly on Tuesday and Thursdays, between the hours of 9 and 5. We will contact you for local delivery charges, which are based on weight and location.

Our main carrier is FedEx. We offer FedEx Ground, 2-Day and Next Day Air service. (See full time schedules below.) Selecting a method of shipment determines how long your package is in transit once the package ships. It does not include the time required for Grassroots to process, package and ship your order (usually 1-4 business days).

Ground:
FedEx Ground Service - Canada (1-7 business days)
FedEx Ground Service - U.S. (2-7 business days)

2-Day:
FedEx 2-Day - Canada (2nd business day by 3:00 pm)
FedEx International Economy - U.S. (2nd business day by 4:30 pm)

Next Day:
FedEx Priority Overnight - Canada (next business day)
FedEx International Priority - U.S. (next business day)
Canada Post is considered a backup carrier and may be used occasionally. A word about carrier substitutions: From time to time, we may have to choose a carrier other than the one you selected at checkout. Our primary carrier may have difficulty completing a shipment, while another may not. Situations like natural disasters, work stoppages, service delays, etc. may arise. Rest assured, if we switch carriers, we will maintain a service level equal to or exceeding what you originally requested.


11. International Shipping & Currency Conversion:

We ship only to Canada and the continental United States at this time. If you live outside these countries, we cannot process your order. We also cannot accept credit cards from outside Canada and the United States, regardless of where the product is being shipped.

All prices are in Canadian dollars. For currency conversion, click here. Your credit card company will automatically make the exchange at current rates (check with your credit card company for details).

Orders shipped to the United States are not charged Canadian taxes, but do pass through customs and are subject to import duties, taxes and custom processing fees. These charges will be calculated by FedEx and billed directly to you. While these charges are usually relatively small, please be aware that they do exist. A FedEx invoice will arrive with your parcel or may follow in the mail. Recipients are responsible for paying these additional fees.

12. Taxes:

Taxes are calculated based on where products are shipped to, not where they are ordered from. Products shipped to the United States are not subject to Canadian taxes. If your Canadian business is PST exempt, please provide us with your vendor permit. As our website software is American based and unable to handle two taxes well, we are unable to remove PST from the initial order, and must remove it after it has been placed.

We work hard to bring the best products available to our customers, and want to hear what you think about them. In the spirit of consumer empowerment, we are proud to provide you with a place to express your opinions of our products (favourable or not!).

This section outlines the expected conduct and use of our Product Reviews feature. These guidelines are not exhaustive and we reserve the right to modify them at any time, effective upon posting. If you have further questions, we would be happy to include them here.

Who can write product reviews?
Anyone registered as a grassrootsstore.com customer can write customer reviews. It follows that you should be familiar with any product you are reviewing.

Does the reviewer have to buy the item from Grassroots?
No, although many of the products that we carry are unique, so please be sure that you are reviewing the same product! Feel free to review a product even if you have just borrowed it from someone for a weekend. It is also fine to mention other products that you consider similar in order to compare.

How long do product reviews stay on the site?
Reviews remain on our site indefinitely.

Can product reviews be removed?
Yes, but within clear reason. Reviews should focus on the product and your experience with it. Great reviews include not only whether an individual liked or disliked an item, but also why. Customers are free to mention related items and how a particular item rates in comparison.

Comments may not be approved if they contain:

  • Profanity, obscenities, racist or unwarranted remarks
  • Very short reviews: we want to hear what you thought of the product!
  • Phone/fax numbers, mail addresses, URLs (please no advertising, promotion or solicitation)
  • Availability, price or alternative ordering/shipping information
  • Solicitations for positive/negative reviews
  • Information not meant for reviews; If you need to notify us, please send us an email.
  • Impersonation of any person or entity

14. Pricing or Typographical Errors:

While Grassroots Commercial strives to provide accurate product and pricing information, pricing or typographical errors may occur. In the event that an item is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to an error in pricing or product information, Grassroots Commercial shall have the right, at its sole discretion, to adjust or refuse orders placed for that item. Prices and availability are subject to change without notice.


15. Limitations of Liability:

In no event will Grassroots or its suppliers be liable for any indirect, special, consequential or incidental damages, including, without limitation, lost profits or revenues, costs of replacement goods, loss or damage to data arising out of the use or inability to use www.grassrootscommercial.com or any Grassroots product, damages resulting from use or reliance on the information set forth on this website, even if Grassroots or its suppliers have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
